Mystic Eyes - Mysterious

Post by Jah Chicken »

Greetings,
I've been trying to track down the Mystic Eyes - Mysterious LP: http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1349. Does anyone have this LP? Is it worth finding? I like the locals very much on 'Foward with Love' and 'Foward with Jah Orthodox'. I can imagine that the other material might be killer as well! Is this one so rare that it's nearly impossible to come by, or has anyone seen it in circulation recently?

Praises,
Jah Chicken

Jah Chicken,

I saw this one on ebay a couple times in the last month or so. It went for about $130. I guess it's pretty heavy material. I haven't heard any of the tracks though.

One of the Most underated vocal harmony Groups. I've always said that groups like the Uniques, Mystic eyes and travellers don't get much mention beacause of the number of albums

does anybody know if they recorded any other album(Mystic eyes)

Ps: By the way i got my album from soulseek

the only MYSTIC EYES I have (and have heard) are 2 tracks
on LEE PERRY LARKS FROM THE ARK which also has 16 other wicked tracks
including the JOLLY BROTHERS and George Faith just to name a few.

OH and also "Forward with Jah Orthodox" available elsewhere

Got this one and I like it a lot. Good riddims produced by L Thompson with the Revo. Some dubs can be found on the Negrea Love Dub and some deejays cuts on the Trinity's "Rock In The Ghetto". There are some riddims, L Thompson also used for other vocal cuts (ie: "Life Is Not Easy" & "I Hold The Handle") and there are some exemples on the "LT & Revo @ Ch 1" comp issued by Trojan few years ago.

I have to check if you need more accurate infos about the riddims and the other cuts.

BTW it seems Anthony Johnson was the lead singer. I'm not certain tho'

Me too... just got it its a top powerful killa!!! One of my best LP.

Most chunes worth... killa riddims and voice trio, give thanks to Linval... you have to jump pon dis. Ya probably know perilous time (also called judgement time). If not, check a sample there: www.geocities.com/rootsauction10/periloustime.wma

still its hard to get the LP... and you got to pay the price, no bargain with dis one...

But you should try!

Either than a 7" repress, look for the Greensleeves 12", it include a good DJing by Trinity. The 12" release pon Burning Sounds have the dub in second part.

And there is at least another chune of the Mystic Eyes called "SHINING LIGHT" pon a 7", Canadian label called Black Rose.

If any of you own dis... please comment or post a sample...

Oh and about the singers... impossible to find any infos... The only thing certain, is that anthony Johnson is part of the trio... After that... Makasound says he is the lead singer... but in all cases, no infos about both others...
