has anyone seen the rest of this movie? does anyone know who shot it and who released it? and does anyone know if the boy still plays or just got traumatized by his sensitive daddy?

Greetings Marina,
That video clip is from Deep Roots Vol. 4: The Black Ark. For more information on this excellent 6 volume series, see this thread: http://www.roots-archives.com/forum/rea ... #msg-18260, or search through the forum list. Crucial Lee Perry footage, not to be missed!!

Roots,

Its King Scratch Perry, filmed in 1982, chanting & ranting on the beach & running around in mud, declarations in the decrepit Black Ark Studio with his children (pre fire). The early stages of his "action-reaction" stream of consciousness mind-set. Crucial.

This drum machine at Black Ark sound exactly same as the one Bob used for Slogans in 1981...
Crazy Perry... The little boy already got a good touch... I dont know if its Perry's son, I doubt. If its him, then yes Marina, he is still playin and singin... and releasing stuff from the mad man.

Bizarre!

If this man wasn't an undisputed reggae genius, responsible for some of the best ever sounds to come from Jamaica, then you would have to dismiss him as a delusioned, ranting and raving madman on the strength of this footage!

I hope that those people that are currently claiming that smoking weed causes mental problems don't get hold of stuff like this...

I think Mr Perry is SO far out he's gone - well gone!

It seems to be often the way that people with extreme genius also have fraagile mental states.

greetings all
if the boy is perry's son Omar Perry, then he is still involved in Reggae music - because he just gave a concert lately together with modern rootsman Jah Mason in my hometown.

By the way, I am not him in case you're confused - just a coincidence.

best
Omar
