I have the Ah Who Seh on disc with Leggo! Ah-Fi-We- Dis. It is a great disc and a lot different than the Jamaican roots I usually listen to but still excellent. My kids love the rainbow swirled CD inside and I have to keep them away from it because they think it's kids' music.
THe Music in the Air anthology by MAtumbi is worth the price, too, if you get a chance. Dennis Bovell is a great talent.

yes Jason, the attractive swirls are more facets of Bovell's marketing genius. reminds me of the hideous rust and orange blotch camouflage 7" record sleeve Graeme Goodall designed for Dr. Bird UK singles. he admitted their fugliness, but says it's the only sleeve that, on edge, stands out on a shelf of singles. another brilliant man, him

I like the story of how he originally released the 1st 2 LP`s to try and dupe people into thinking they were Jamaican to try and get better response on the British and Jamaican sound system circuits.

I'd like to check them out. The vinyl is hideously expensive, so maybe CD is my best way of hearing these. Or perhaps they have also been released again on vinyl?

Hi Leggo
EMI have released these as 2 x 2 CD`s (2 albums on each).
Not sure if they have released them vinyl.
A Who Seh & Leggo are the 1st two and the best.
If you used to go to Blues Parties in the late seventies, you will remember these tracks.
Higher Ranking and Yun Learn are not as good imo.
Definately worth picking up even if you have to resort to CD. (which considering your vinyl condition may be theraputic)

I did indeed have the pleasure of going to the Blues int he late 70s and early 80s. Something which I really do miss.
Amazingly, there is a reggae night coming to Lincoln on Easter weekend. We shall see if the DJ knows his stuff. And if the people come to wind up their waist, it will give me confidence to have a go here myself.
I shall look out for those CDs soon. Right now I have to buy nutt'n. Gonna spend a little time and cash on my car. It's an old Supra that needs a some TLC (hopefully then it'll release the Black Uhuru CD it held prisoner in it's cd drive for the past few weeks.)
