Fatman/King Tubby-Unleashed/Shining Dub

Post by Matthew »

http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1241#rel5641

Is this one of those bootleggy/fake compilations or an actual release?
Also...Anyone know what songs are presented/versioned here?
Any feedback would be a blessing!

Actually this LP IS NOT a King Tubby one. Got the "Shining Dub" and more or less half the tune come from the "Fat Man Dub Contest" (Crucial Bunny & Jammy):

These dub where dubplates played by Fat Man in the late 70's. They are reaaly tuff, especialy the Jammy's side.

I will listen to Shining Dub and give you more details.

I listened to the Shinning dub and like it a lot.

I can add:

"Herbal Dub" is a dub to C Campbell "100 Pounds Of Collie". At least the same riddim, I have to compare it with the 12" of C Campbell.

Otherwise, these 4 tunes come from the Jammy vs Crucial Bunny LP:

"Shining Dub" (AKA "Jammy A Shine") dub to the Black Uhuru cut to Bob's "Sun Is Shining".
"No Idiot Dub"(AKA "jammy A No Fool") dub to J Clarke's "Play Fool Fe Get Wise".
"Satta Dub" (AKA "Jammy A Satta") dub to J Clarke's cut tu the Abyssinians classic.
"Dubbing My Way" (AKA "Jammy On The Move")

The Dub Contest LP has been reissue if memory serve. I think Auralux did it. I'm not into reissues, so can't confirm. If it does exist you might find audio snipet on the web to check if they are your style of dub.

IMO The Jammy side is simply killer.
