It is supposed to re-released on August 4th 2007, but it has had a couple of failed release dates in the past 18 months,It is a six part series that will be released on two Dvd's. It is a must have.

Check my website for the latest deep roots relaese info
www.reggaefilms.co.uk

basically they have been trying to release the series on dvd for about 2yrs now with 2 or 3 failed release dates already, the next official release date they have given is august i think(u can check dates on my website), Lace international plan a 2x dvd release containing all 6 episodes, then theres also another company doing a 3x dvd set release and they are releasing them in 2 episodes at a time, with the first part due out on dvd very soon. You can find bootleg copies of the series, theres a few versions, deep roots was originally broadcast in the early 80's as 6x 55min episodes, then it was re-broadcast a few years later as 6x 30min or 40min episodes, so theres 2 bootleg versions floating round, one is very bad quality and has time code stamps on screen, the other is excellent quality 9/10 and the full version.
For anyone that hasn't seen deep roots then u must buy it, essential for any reggae fan, packed full of wicked footage from the artists on the day.
The film Babylon has also just had a official dvd release in italy with extra "Dread Beat An Blood" with LKJ which was very controversial 1st time round and i seem to remember it getting banned for some reason.
