I just bought my first Bob Andy CD, Retrospective. Usually i can wait to get my music in the mail but this time I'm starting to get antsy.
Any opinions on this disc. I usually prefer heavy roots and never bought a CD by Andy b/c I know him as mainly a 60s cover tunes artist. This material is supposed to be a lot more rootical. Anyone have an opinion? Is this some of his better material?

I dig it but I guess it would'nt be for everybody! Bob Andy is a wonderful song craftsman and doesn't lean on any cliches. He is very insightful in his lyricism. The grooves are provided by the usual great players on this disc! Enjoy!

Thanks for the opinions, Lion and Blessup. I'm looking forward to hearing it.
Lion, here is the release I ordered it's a different compilation than above:

Is this material about the same as the Songbook stuff?

Hi Lion
Thank you for the heads-up on that album!
Sitting listening to the recently purchased "Better Dub" and "Congo Dub" comes on. Check out the source as I am blown away by it and, as you know, it's "Unchained" by Bob Andy.
Synchronicity, indeed.
Ordered it straight away.
