Has anyone heard any of these tracks? Which tracks were recorded at the Black Ark? Who would you compare Wayne Jobson's voice to?

It really doesn't matter, though. I will be getting this as soon as EB gets it in!

I heard about 'Native' only by reading David Katz' book "People Funny Boy". Until last week I never heard any of their songs. The cd holds 7 tracks out of 12, that were recorded at Black Ark and mixed by Scratch.

In fact there are 'only' 5 tracks but 2 tracks are accompanied with their dub versions.

'In The Land of Make Believe'
'In a Strange Land'
'Late September in May' + Version
'Meet Mr Nobody' + Version
'Rockstone'

Looks good, thanks for the heads-up!!!

DWick: According to this link:
http://www.pressure.co.uk/pressuresound ... 7&offset=0
a track of his appears on: [cover=6547,4607]
You could get an idea of his voice there.

I just got an advance CD copy, it's really good - Wayne Jobson's voice is steady - reminds me of Max Romeo a bit, but the rhythms are where it's at, HEAVY! I had never heard of this, but one of the music buyers here in Boston hooked me up... WELL worth it...

It's a great release imho. It's not everyday you can find unreleased (or extremely rare) black ark tunes reissued. If you like the late black ark area, you can buy it without fear.
