The Stingers

Post by picaraza »

Does any one have any information on this group?

I have a few tracks that they recorded for Scratch, but haven't found much else.

According to the Stingers page on this site, the following tracks are available.

X Forward Up
X Give Me Power
Give Me Power #2
Preacher Man
Preacher Version
X Down Presser International

Do they have anything that is not currently available on CD reissue. Any comments on their recordings?

Thanks

"The Stingers were among the numerous vocal trios who burst forth onto the Reggae scene in the early seventies, only to disappear just as fast after just a few releases. Led by Leroy Tibby and featuring a certain W.Brown and W.Green on backing vocals, the group made their recording debut for Perry in 1971 with the impressive 'Give me Power'."
From the liner notes to "The Complete UK Upsetter Singles Collection volume 4".
