Re: Late 80s Island Recording Artists
it surely would be interesting to know, especially what happened to: Foundation & Donovan.
I think they used to record for Jack Ruby & after he died I haven't seen any new records with them.
I really like their LP's especially Foundation.

cultural roots was Jamaican not UK. They have a few good tunes "Buss Them Shut", "O Mama", "Tribal Avenue", "Mr Bossman", "Hell A Go Pop" in the early 80s

Foundation was the best of the bunch "Heart Feel It", "Flames" were great albums. "One Shirt" was ok, had highlights, but overall wasn't as solid throughout like the others.

Regarding Foundation: One of the members passed away, can't remember which one. Haven't heard of them recording or touring since. Hope the manage to get both efforts going again, they were a humble and nice set of fellas.
And with Donovan: He is still recording, put out a cd a year or 2 ago called Life Code of Ethics. Some good songs, a few great ones too on it, but overall, a little more polished compared to his more hard hitting stuff for Ruby.
Don't know about the other groups you mention, Chong.

Re: Late 80s Island Recording Artists
Identity has not put out out any albums since their two Island LPs in the late 80s. "Rejoice" is a great tune but the rest of the material sounds like the typical late 80s stuff.
I read an article about Foundation that said they were recording an album after the passing of one of the singers. Have not heard if the album was ever released.
