reggae samples going gold

i was on carlton livingston's website, and he has a picture of a gold record he got by being sampled on a ja rule track.

I wonder if any other reggae artists have got similar experience and if the labels paid them royalties.

i bet max romeo and lee perry have a gold or even platinum album and plenty money from the sample on jay z's black album
