What's the story with "Sir Coxson Sound" and Lloyd Coxson?

Was their any connection between Lloyd Coxson (aka Lloydie Coxsone) and Clement Dodd?

(I just realized today that I've been assuming the wrong Coxsone for the production of 'King Of The Dub Rock')

Lloyd Coxsone was a Jamaican born English soundsystem owner. He emigrated from Jamaica to England in 1962, and a few years later launched Lloydie the Matador Sound System and eventually Sir Coxsone Outtanational Sound System. He still tours today inna europe mostly. i think no connection between him and C.S. Dodd. i too assumed that the first time i encountered King of Dub Rock.

Yes lloydie Coxsone & Blacka Dread run the label.
And Blacka Dread was The selector for Coxsone sound.
O Lord It was a good time when Blacka Dread play the sound.

i did hear onetime the other coxsne said the real coxsone was his hero when he was younger so him name dat sound that way. icant clearly memba but a no fantasy dis. some truths will be tere.

i could imagine that DonD, hard not to respect Sir Dodd... especially as a youth coming up in the sound systems.

Yes Lion,Those were the days when you had to pick your sound to hear a specific selection because that might be the only time you hear that tune until it hit the streets-remember tickle me by thriller,peoples club with Saxon '83.Find that cassette.

Don't forget Festus was selector before Blacker.He is the selector on the king of dub rock album sleeve.

I was not around for the festus years but the elders claim he was a rough selector.
