New categories in Roots Archives
In order to complete the Archives, we are going to add new "categories" / album :
"Music Style categories" :
- Ska / Rock Steady
- Early Reggae
- Roots Reggae
- Dancehall
- Computer
"Album style categories" :
- Dub
- DJ
- Vocal
- Instrumental
- Discomix
- Riddim album
"Other categories"
- Rough Guide To Reggae
Please let us know if you consider they are the right ones and don't hesitate to submit others.
This is a lot of work to do so it may take quite a long time to accomplish, that's why we'd like these categories to be the correct ones before we ever start filling the info.
Thanks
The Roots Archives Team

Re: New categories in Roots Archives
just listing all the albums included in the rough guide to reggae
should help the beginners to try albums more than others
already thinking about adding poetry & nyahbinghi in the album styles

I also think the categories are good. Adding nyabinghy is useful, poetry too.
Once again much respect and thanks for your work.

Re: New categories in Roots Archives
maybe we should use the "your 3 favorite albums" thread to make a "roots archives guide to reggae" as well ... what do you think about it ?

Why call it computer and not digital?
Great idea though. Discomix maybe should have been called showcase also?

all sounds pretty good to me. respect for doing this whole project:-) Liking the nyahbinghi addition. this might be overworking things/unnecessary but would it help any to have a vocal *group* category? think you got it well covered though. thanks!
