Roots Books
Having read People Funny Boy and Solid Foundation by the Mighty Katz, I'm keen to find more literature on me favourite subject - Jamaican music. It seems that quite a lot has been written about Jamaican music, from The Rough Guide to Reggae to Michael Veal's Dub — Soundscapes & Shattered Songs In Jamaican Reggae. What can you recommend for insightful reading? Ta!

I'd recommend "Reggae Bloodlines" by Stephen Davis. Out of print but found 2:nd hand.

Yes, Bass Culture seems to be quite popular. Haven't heard of reggae bloodlines before - will look for it!
