Rare Keith Hudson LP's

Post by chapmanra »

Hi all, I've been looking for some time now for 2 of Keith Hudson's rarer LP's, "Class & Subject" and "Furnace". Does anyone know where I might find them. Thanks!

I think you might continue this search for a long time yet. And when you find them, get ready to hammer the bank balance!

I've also looked for them long time now, and when they have come up, the price has been crazy and the vinyl condition is poor.

Hmmm....
It seems Hudsons records differs in a big way in rareness....
I have "Too expensive" and "Rasta communication", wich u can find everywhere, it seems.
And then u have these records, as the two mentioned above, that are rarely seen, and when they do, going for hillarious prizes!!

Those 2 Keith Hudson albums do go for silly money but imo they are not that good.

I agree with Rootsman. I've heard them and they aren't his best. That's just one reason why I never bothered to bust the bank to get them.

The other two are later LPs and were both released on UK labels with big pressing runs. Both were, I think, also re-released later on. I am sure one or both were also done to CD.

But what is rare by him, and is crucial, is the Entering The Dragon LP. I have it, sadly without a cover, and I personally think it is one of his best LPs. Another Killa is Flesh Of My Skin, Blood Of My Blood. Co-incidentally these are both from the same period, 1974, also the same period as the superb Pick a Dub.

There is a really good CD re-issue of Flesh of My Skin with some superb bonus tracks. Well worth picking up that one.

Agree with you about flesh of my skin leggo rocker. It´s way out of what other reggae sounds like.
Just bougt playing it cool and playing it right wich sounds also great to me. All time dubreggaeroots favo is still Pick a dub.

Thanks all. I have all of the others on CD or MP3 aside from those I asked about. Good stuff for sure. And the Entering the Dragon LP was reissued as a Trojan Fan Club cd a couple of years ago, it's excellent.

Leggo,

Which label is that CD re-issue of Flesh of My Skin with lots of bonus tracks???

I have a Basic Replay re-issue and no bonus tracks there:(

And when it comes to two albums mentioned, Furnace is in fact not that good, but some old-fashioned dubs on this are really good, while Class&Subject I really like, very good one, with classic tunes like Class&Subject and Barbican. Not as good as Flesh, but still very nice:)
