Somehow I found the time this morning to record, list and upload a new mix tape to www.leggorockers.com/downloads
It's a small mix up of early Dance Hall Style. Wikkid tracks from Barry Brown, Jah Thomas, Sugar Minott etc.
Go here to check it out:

And why not join our little community and upload your own mixes, or even your own reggae music compositions?

Re: Dance Hall Style Mix, Part One
thank you very much!
why don't you try to really "mix" the songs instead of adding one to another with blank in the middle?
but I'd say this is great like this cos people can cut your mix and create single mp3 files for every song.
thanks again for spreading reggae reality! (tu)

Re: Dance Hall Style Mix, Part One
No decent DJ would use mp3 copies and as leggo approves people to use the site i doubt he'd have let a floodgate of people who are going to just cut up mixes onto the site.
Anyway leggo, thank you for the mix, i'll have a listen tomorrow.

*sigh*
When I saw the abuse of the rating system on the mix site I guessed someone unwelcome had turned up, already.

@ Oras:
Thanks for your sarcasm.
But:
I don't have much time right now, so I am not 'mixing' tracks. I'm just playing records as I work. Hence the proliferation of mistakes, gaffs and technical errors.
Some of the tracks segue into others when I am attentive enough.
Hopefully, as my new cafe venture matures, I'll be able to free up some time to put into making slightly more professional mixes.
Fortunately, other users on the site have more time or technical equipment than me and have made some REALLY great and well polished mixes. So there's a good standard there to make up for the lack of it in my productions.
As for people cutting up the mixes into individual tunes, I don't really see how it is much different from my old broadcasts on live365. Especially as their system FORCES you to load the tracks separately.
And if people really want to just download songs to make up collections, they can do it easy. There's thousands of places to lift MP3s, even of old reggae tunes.
Oh and Oras, if you would let me know what you user name is on the site I'll delete you so you don't have to listen to any of it or get involved.

don't misunderstand me! I support everyone who spreads reggae culture and some of the tracks you put on the site are really brilliant!
don't worry about the technical difficulties! it's so nice like this!
and BTW I'm not registered at all! but if you allow me to register I could upload some stuff and help you (by example) to start the "version excursion" section

Just register as Oras. I'll allow you in. I love version excursions so go right ahead and entertain us.
Although I am slightly worried that you if you have downloaded stuff from the site as ONLY registered users are supposed to be able to do this! But the software is proving to be fairly clunky and a little buggy in places!
My motivation with the site is to distribute reggae music to anyone and everyone who wants it. Especially those who can't afford the crazy prices of a lot of these records.
I also hope that hearing some tracks on there will stimulate people actually seek out the originals, or repressings and PAY for them.
I'd be happy to add links to shops and distributors and even artists selling their stuff direct in order to help keep this music alive.

But I'm sad to hear downloading can be done by unregistered users. Not because I don't want you to have the music but because registering before upload and download is supposed to be part of the music distribution licence deal. So I can show how many people are using so the music biz knows how much to charge me for the licence
