well just a question, i'm curious about this 12" is it rare ?? what other info can i get from it i bought it in the mids 80's.

That 12" sure is a rarity by now. Whether it's the jamaican original (matrix DSR 5179 A/5180 B) or the english release through Island I don't think that this is widely available anymore.
You may find it listed under Light of Saba (a-side) or Michael Smith & Light of Saba (b-side).
This was the first record ever to present Michael Smith's poetry. This version of 'Word Sound (Cyan belive it)'is different in style to that one from the later album produced by Linton Kwesi Johnson.
Can't help on the Big Joe tracks.
