Jolly Brothers' Ballistic Records 12'

Post by darewon »

I picked up a Jolly Brother's 12 inch for Conscious Man on Ballistic Records.

It's a Disco 45 with a woman in hot pants holding some dynamite. UA was the parent company to the label.

Tracks: Conscious Man
Conscious Dub
Jolly Rhythm

Is this one hard to come across? I don't see it listed in the archive.

Another 2.50 steal! (The recession is a good thing for us vinyl freaks! :D)

It's pretty easy to find, but it's a steal no matter how much you pay for it -- because of how good the music is! :)

Yes! It's one of my favorite tracks by the Jolly Brothers. I was amazed to find a 12 inch single of it. I never knew it existed. Play on!

Leggo,

Perhaps, just maybe ;), RA can start cataloging 12 inches and 45s?

It will take a lot of work, but the benefits will surely be worth it! It would look nice too- to see all the different versions as described above.

Leggo,

Thanks for the info! I was not aware of those sites. Now, I can continue "dreaming" online :).

And for the Ballistic Records 12", the seconde tune on B side (Jolly Rhythm) is actually a dub to Earl Sixteen "Freedom"!

I have Five 12" with this Jolly Bro' "Conscious Man" and I don't realy like the tune. But I keep three of them for the flip side alone:

The 2 Seven Leaves 12" for the "Such Is Life" (Creator) and the "Brotherly Love" (H Nicholson) wich are excellent IMO. The Ballistic one for the Freedom dub.

Otherwise the Cyprian one with the George Faith tune (Don't Be Affraid) is not my taste. And the Roots press (with the Brotherly Love on flip) is a reissue from early 90's (I think). Both are on my trade/sale list.

BTW Anyone compared the different cuts to the Conscious Man tune? I wonder if there are any differences in lenght and mixes.
