This is my first posting so to start off a big hello to everyone out there.
I was a hardcore reggae listener during the late 70's and have been dormant until now. I have recently discovered Blood&Fire and Pressure Sounds and now the bug is back!
I have a question regarding Blood&Fire releases. Was every release in the discography originally stamped by Blood&Fire or did Simply Vinyl take over the pressings at a certain point in time. Someone told me that from BAFLP026 onward the pressings were all marked Simply Vinyl/B&F and that pure B&F versions did not exist .
Can someone please explain further?
Thanks
Gregg
PS - who has a lead on a hidden stash of B&F (ha ha)
PSS - I know the B&F forum is on shaky ground - are they still accepting new members? I registered however I have yet to receive a confirmation from the admin

Dont know the exact number, when Simply Vinyl took over, but in general its true what you wrote. BAF stopped to press vinyls and then at one point Simply Vinyl released some of the CD-only releases on vinyl, but not all of them. In the very end BAF started to do vinyls again...

Totally agree with leggo rocker about the Simply Vinyl B+F pressings . Deathly quiet on the run-in groove , then..BAM..

Thanks to all for the replies.
Are there any bad B&F LP's or are they all great?
Was there a vinyl release of Big Youth Natty Universal Dread or just a CD set? If there was vinyl was it B&F or Simply Vinyl and was it a box set alla Jesus Dread?
Thanks
Gregg
I still have not received confirmation of my registration on the B&F forum - does anyone have a way to contact the admin for that forum?

I have 'pick a dub' by Keith Hudson on a 180 gram vinyl. Sounds definitly very good...
As far as I know Simply Vinyl quit pressing those Blood and fire records years ago..
The Abyssinians and Friends - The Tree of Satta is one to avoid, a waste of money.
Useless to register now.. because as you can read on their board.. the site will close/go down next februari...

Read again. It won't go down.tafari wrote: Useless to register now.. because as you can read on their board.. the site will close/go down next februari...
Plenty of people have problems with registering at B&F discussion board. My advice to you is to seek somebody out who is registered already and have him send a message to the moderator so that he will activate your account.
Sylford Walker & Welton Irie "Lamb's Bread International" is also a very nice Simply Vinyl/B&F release.

Care to volunteer for me? I registered under the same name as here - Buzzlulu - about a week ago however I have not heard back from the moderator (Cheyenne?).
Lamb's Bread International - I have scoured the interned for a vinyl copy of this one - not one to be found anywhere. If someone has a lead (please).
Thanks
Gregg

Re: Collecting Blood & Fire
By the way: Some of the releases were available from BAG and later Simply Vinyl...the SV ones also have the CD bonus tracks! So go for them, specially the Congos set has much more tracks on SV!
