Acoustic Jamaican artists?
Does anyone know of any strictly acoustic Jamaican artists or an acoustic album? Doesn't necessarily need to be with a reggae skank, just with the roots vibe. I'm thinking something along the lines of the classic clip of Joe Higgs acoustically playing, "There's a Reward". With an addition of niyabinghi drumming would be excellent!

Re: Acoustic Jamaican artists?
You should check the whole "Inna De Yard" series, wich features some great artits such as Viceroys, Congos, Junior Murvin, Ras Michael, and many others, all performing in a sort of "acoustic vibes" with earl chinna smith on acoustic guitar.
All the albums on this series were recorded at Chinna's yard, so that's why the name "inna de yard".
Besides that, there's a hawaiian artist called "Sashamon" that makes a very beautiful blend of roots reggae and hawaiian music, with many tunes in a acoustic way.
Check his album called "One Day Maybe". I don't classify it as reggae, but I found his music really nice and refreshing, specially if you're going to hear it on the beach, or close to your girl.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I hope this helps.
Blessings,

There is a series of CDs called "Inna De Yard" that were released by a label in France called Makasound, that capture classic roots artists in an acoustic setting. This really gives you an opportunity for the vocals to shine through.
Not sure where you reside, but they are well distributed, and of course available via mail order.
Also, there are clips on YouTube, so you can try before you buy. It's a very well-conceived series.
