I know some people who don't like to share their latest "discover", but I think most people here would like to know first of the latest or recent releases and represses available, and also the future ones.
Many albums or singles are getting repressed every week/month and are sold on different sources, so my proposal here is to not only mention the releases but also where (at least one source) that is available.
So I will start with some recent represses that some I already bought, and some I'll buy shortly. All available at Ernie B's and most major sources:
- LP - Barrington Levy - Run Come Ya - They say it's a limited repress out of California, on the same Puff records that the original was released. Killeeer Barrington stuff!
- LP - Anthony Johnson (Mystic I) - Perilous Time Showcase - Finally most of the tracks from the Mystic Eyes "Mysterious" album are availabe, with some dub's added.
- 10" LP & CD - Gideon Jah Rubaal - Free Us Now - Is it all old stuff or there's some new tracks too? I have the "Love Rasta" 10" and really love it.
- Joe Gibbs 12"s - Many Classics repressed such as Naggo Morris "Su Su Pan Rasta" and Sylford Walker "Burn Babylon". Couldn't buy all at once.
- Big Youth classic 7"s on Negusa Nagast - "Hit The Road Jack", "Every Nigger Is A Star" and the classic version of Satta Masagana "I pray Thee".
- Keith Hudson 45's on Mafia - A lot of killers with Augustus Pablo, Horace Andy & Big Youth.
And last:
- CD - Linval Thompson - Ghetto Living - New roots material from Linval. Fresh Lyrics and old sound.
I know there's plenty other releases and represses available that I don't remember now, but these are good recommendations I have for the moment.
I'll wait for other contributions to pick some records and add to my "wants list".
