Joe Gibbs and Mikey Dread connection?

Post by Visitor »

Is there connection between Joe Gibbs and Mikey Dread?

For example look in:

"African Dub All-Mighty Chapter 3" album:

"Dub Three" (notice the doorbell)
"Jubilation Dub" (notice the chime effect)
"Chapter Three" (notice the spring effects)

"Majestic Dub" album:

"Majestic Dub" (notice the bubble effects and the beeb effects)

These are the same sound effects which Mikey Dread has used...

:)

Funny, but likely true as well.

I do like the doorbell intro to the "Joe Frazier" riddim though.

As they say "gimmicks to limits!"

Yes, I always figured it was a sound effect album used for most of that gimmickry - gimmickry which seems to be frowned upon by many on this forum - but I quite like it in moderation. It is humourous. It might even be post-modern for those who look for such things!
