The album format never was (and still not is) the original format for records coming from Jamaica. It always was the 7" single (from mid 1970s to mid 1980s also the 12").
If I narrow your question down to albums originally released in Jamaica in that time period then it will be a number totalling around 1.800 albums.

18000 would be a better number I guess... 1965 - 1985 (= 20 years..) 1800/20 = 90 a year....

Yeah, hard to say. If you throw in 7" and 12" along with lps, I'd have to guess it's infinite.

@han
Only originals released in JA. The vast majority of reggae albums from early 1960s until 1985 came from England.
If I had to estimate on all albums coming from all over the world I would not go for more than 5.000 during that period.

18,000 seems quite high, starting the ska era at 1960 (giving a 25 year time frame) that would translate into two new albums a day, every day, for 25 years.
JA just doesn't seem to me to have ever been that album oriented.
A similar discussion is happening on Chatty Mouth right now, and someone mentions that Studio One released just over 300 albums, even counting for unknown albums galore, if Studio One of all labels only had, say, 500 LPs I can't see how many labels could have many more than that.
