It has been over a year now since the death of Freedom Sounds producer Bertram Brown and still numerous questions surrounding his death are left unanswered. The only person that could shed some light on this tragedy is Ira Heaps of Jammyland as he was with Bertram at the time of his disappearance. Disappearance, as his body was never discovered, yet it was Ira who initially confirmed his death. Ira fled Jamaica before being questioned by the authorities. News of Bertram's apparent accidental death by drowning (as the story that Ira adheres to) is absurd. Bertram, a skilled swimmer as a youth, would not have chosen to have gone swimming in the middle of the night and during hurricane season.
Out of respect to the Brown family, all of Jamaica, all Freedom Sounds fans, and the global reggae community, it would be nice if Ira came clean about what really happened.
