This song just popped in my head that I haven't heard for years. Don't have a recording of it anymore, but i can sort of remember the chorus and hook.

Not sure about that last line, but something like that. I heard it long long ago when i was first getting into reggae. Remembering back i think that it sounded a lot like Don Carlos. If not him then a similar sounding singer from the early-to-mid 80s.
