Rico Rodriguez - That Man Is Foward / Jama Rico CD 1996 (VDBD-1005)

Hello, I've been looking for Rico Rodriguez - That Man Is Foward / Jama Rico. It was released for the first time on CD in japan in 1996. Almost a year has gone by and still no traces of this rare cd. I was hoping that someone hear at roots archives might know something. Any additional info would help.

which may not help you if you live outside of uk, but hopefully its an indication that it can still be found for sale

Your best bet may be to try Yahoo Auctions Japan, (ebay pulled out of Japan years ago and Yahoo does the job), most sellers won't ship outside Japan, but there are companies who will act as a middleman for you.

Thanks for the replies. I have already bought the mp3 album from i-tunes (USA) also amazon sells it but i'm really looking for the CD.

I've been looking Yahoo Auctions Japan but so far no luck... Oh well I guess i just have to keep on looking.

I remember putting this back on the shelf in HMV Tokyo because it cost a LOT !!!
You can find THAT MAN....on CD and sometimes JAMA RICO on very expensive LP
(but it is rare on CD)
The double on 2 Tone is very rare indeed !

Avoid JAPA RICO,The Japanese tribute CD with Rico,
until you have a listen because you may not like what you hear
Some tracks are cool ...others hhhhmmmmmmeh

see if you would it bought it you could made a profit of of me!...any who, I finally located a copy of this elusive CD.

I have That Man Is Forward on CD (Reggae Retro 2000) with 2 bonus tracks. I also have That Man.. .and Jama Rico on LP.

Unfortunately I did not avoid Japa Rico. Some tracks are ok but most are not my taste. By the way, most tracks on this CD are compressed by 4 to 6 DB. Rico also put out a live concert DVD released only in Japan titled "Rico Rodriguez Meets Cool Wise Men" (2006). I like the music but the overall audio and video quality is mediocre. The audio is heavily compressed by at least 6 DB!! That’s a lot.

Hey i have been looking for this cd on ebay and amazon seen it once on ebay but was out bid. I had given up but i saw this thread checked on amazon sellers someone had a copy of that man is forward about £20.thought it might be a little high then i read has extra tracks 17 includes jama rico.so i bought it came today one happy man here.

Did you find that cd in Amazon UK?

If so you must of beat me to it by a few days because i went to all amazon websites and the only one that had a copy (still does) is Amazon Japan for 3000 yen. I did not get it because it was in good condtion but the liner notes and obi were missing.

Few days later a pristine copy showed up in Yahoo Auction Japan and i was all over it!

Very happy man indeed! I'm glad both of us found a copy!

Yeah Amazon uk. it was about the same time as reading this post as i had given up on it.
A great cd, or should we say 2 great albums. how do you get on amazon japan and do the sellers ship to uk i am still after warrika dub on cd.
