Shalom Dub

Post by Rootsman »

[cover=2206,2559]

I have noticed that this album "Shalom Dub" has been released by the Jamaican Recordings label. It includes the original 16 tracks that were on the Klic album plus several bonus tracks.

Has anyone got this Jamaican Recordings CD and can confirm if it is the same as the original album and also what is the sound quality like on this release.

Thanks

Sorry to bump this back up so soon but I am out on site tomorrow and was thinking of going to pick it up.

Was hoping for some feedback before doing so.

Thanks

Just having a listen to the Rhino CD now & can hear that it's been transferred from crackly vinyl which is what i'd read about this release.It's pretty noticable so if the Jamaican Rec release dosn't have pops/crackle it's an improvement.

Listened to ths sound clips on Ernie B and it sounded pretty clean apart from a couple of tracks and the 2 bonus cuts.

Think tomorrow I will break with habit and buy my first Jamaican Recording release :)

Picked this up on Friday last week, its got a very good clean sound and a few liner notes too.

Also identifies all the original vocal cuts to the dubs.

All in all a nice CD.
