Decided to compile myself a Black Wax style tracklisted " Natty ... " last night from other CD`s that I have ( ie. Clocktower`s " Ital Corner " - minus the Brad Osbourne`s " Prophet Dub-Satta " etc. ) and came unstuck on " Life Is Gonna Easy " ! Reason being that I don`t know of any other source of this album , other than ebay priced ( astronomical ) vinyl copies !
I realise that this a version to " Life Is A Flower " by Sam Carty , but I wondered if this version track is avaliable on any other CD ?
"Life Is A Flower" was never released as a 7", so therefore version doesn't exist. Unless you find some rare blank 7".
Or did you ask if "Life Is Gonna Easy" was ever released on a 7"? If you did, the answer is still no.
I have always thought the "Life Is Gonna Easy" is abit weak toast even for Jazzbo's standards. So maybe that is why it wasn't included on "Ital Corner" album.
You`re a star there , Visitor (tu) thanks for the " Knowledge " but ...
I have a made myself a copy of " DIP Presents The Upsetter " ( for the same reasons as above ) by compiling from various CD tracks , one of which is a copy of " Black Arkives " on a Ravensquire Ltd. Justice League . This has two Sam Carty tracks - " Life Is A Flower " on it , as well as " I Don`t Mind " which was the base track for " Live Good Today " !
Apparently both of these tracks were released in "..late 1974 .." . Curious and curiouser !!!!
The tie-up between Ravensquire / Justice League and Black Wax is Brian " Icicle " Harris , a co-owner of the Black Wax label . Apparently ..." Harris was also issuing Perry product on his Mango label in this time through a link he had made with Pauline Morrison . ... " ( courtesy of David Katz " People Funny Boy " ) . ( Btw , I was in contact with Brian , via an ebay purchase , a couple of months ago . )
@Anorak:
I have only seen "Brother Man" released on Pisces label. I haven't seen other Sam Carty / Lee Perry prod tunes released as 7".
Btw here is the almost complete list of DIP 7" inches: http://www.xs4all.nl/~tapirs/dip7.htm

"Natty Passing Thru' is a different mix than the Ital Corner set though."
Thanks for that (tu) Radically different ? I have tried to get a copy of the Black Wax press , but it usually goes for far more than I can afford or is in bad nick
Hmmm ... from what I recall there was some differences. Not that radical though. Unfortunately I don't have both sets any longer to compare so I can't really say I'm 100% certain. But I quite distinctly remember that I was a bit surprised first time I heard the Black Wax version after having had an Abraham-reissue for a couple of years (not thinking about the two tracks that don't overlap). Not only was it brighter and more punch in the sound but there was some stuff I couldn't remember from the first version I had heard.
Perhaps someone here has both and can compare? I would feel like a complete plonker if I wasn't correct on this now.
