Greetings all.
I am working on a school project about sound recordings databases like RA, do the mods have any info on who first started this site? Are its origins in the UK?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated! PM if you'd rather discuss privately. Respect!

Re: Who started the Roots Archives?
I see that DJ APR's blog ceased updates in December 2008, just the same time as Roots Archives last update. Coincidence?
It sounds like the owners of the site are French, according to the RA moderator's post here

I'm actually trying to do a library catalogue record for the RA as a uni project, so finding out where the site is administered from would be massively helpful!

Re: Who started the Roots Archives?
I suspect that the creators and hosts of the site like to remain anonymous due to the potential copyright claims they may get from people who want permission for them to post their pictures and albums, thats my guess anyway. Although i think they'd have a good case for fair use if it came to it.
The question of who owns or created it has been asked many times over the years...
