Who were The Afriques?
"Cool Mi Black Brother" on the Joe Gibbs LP United Dreadlocks. Great tune. I have never been able to find anything else by The Afriques. Who were they? Maybe another vocal trio using another name?

that's a underrated tune, for sure. RKR also lists "youth of today" on the abeng label, don't know that tune, though.

Just picked up the Belmont 7! I had the track on a Joe Gibbs LP, but that wicked dub is a must.

Nice one, Mick. Glad my little blog helped out.
Afreques B-side is absolutely one of my fave ET dubs. This, though, is number one: http://pressurebeat.blogspot.com/2007/1 ... -nice.html A side is a nice but awkward nursery rhyme tune, but the the dub....o my my my. Stepper!
Hope you like it.
