I was just wondering if anybody knows the name of the riddim off Ranking Dreads - Poor Man, now there are various versions. So you can listen to the specific one, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOnJiPmF8k8
Another question, does anybody know any reggae songs that use the Nursery Rhyme 'Hole in my Bucket, Dear Liza', I have listened to the version by Max Romeo, and Kojak and Lizas but I have been informed of another couple, but the person that told me didn't recall the artists or the tracks name.

Can't think of the exact song titles right off the top of my head but I can tell you the names of the artists and which album the song appeasrs on.
First of all (rightfully so) is Linval thompson - Follow my heart (Burning Sounds) LP. The next one is Cornell campbell - Sweet Baby (BurningSounds / Vista Sounds) LP. And then more recently, Yami Bolo - Healing of all nations (Roots Foundation) 2LP.
I think it should be obvious that Linval producedall of these albums - the latter was released in 2001 also using the original riddim track recordings that were used on the former 70's/80's releases, which I believe is done by the Revolutionaries (although it is credited to the Roots Radics who were not quite formed in the 1978).
I too have always enjoyed these vintage Linval roots productions as well as his now vintage dancehall releases. His riddim selection and producion/oversight has set him apart from many other producers and given him a special spot in my heart as one of the (many) best producers in his era.

the English Beat used that nursery rhyme on the album I Just Can't Stop It.
Not sure which tune it was anymore though.

Re: Ranking Dread and another Question
Yes ... sorry. The LT tune was indeed "Love is the question" ( I still have that LP on BS Records). And the Yami tune I believe was the "Haile Selassie I" tune. Used to have that 2LP record on color vinyl (red and clear). The other 2LP record on that same label (roots foundation) was the Sylvan White 2LP which I used to have on color vinyl (gold and green). I got both from the Executive producer (Owner), Aaron Yarborough before he released them to the masses. Collectively the two 2LP records donned the ITES RED, GOLD, and GREEN (+clear). Good stuff. two great records. For the collectors...
