Hi.
I work for a small American record label, and I want to put out some modern Jamaican music.
I'm not sure if such a thing still exists but I'm wondering if there are any modern Jamaican groups that have a more roots/dub/lo-fi sorta vibe. Are there any bedroom jams happening? Get my drift? If you know of or are in a band like this please hit me up. Thanks very much!

You should check the Uprising Roots Band, from Rockfort (East Kingston). They're very nice guys, and very good musicians too.
Of course, it doesn't sound like a session at Channel One in 1978, but the vibe is there...

True Anbessa, I was thinking of Uprising Roots too. Another upcoming band from JA is Raging Fyah:

I've really been enjoying the Uprising Roots Band album. Nice to hear the live instrument sound.
