I will text Seb one more time, to talk all this over, maybe I can take over this whole website, but even if I do, I will need help to maintain it.
Good luck

I hope he has enough love for the site left to let someone else solve the problem if he's not interested in doing it... doesn't seem like an unreasonable ask

on one of the previous spam threads there were clearly some individuals who knew a bit about the platform this site is run on and were aware of anti spam modules that could be added in.

If this platform is as simple to use as Drupel that I used once then adding a new module into the forum will not be a big deal at all

With the greatest respect , Congo . Why don't you put yourself up for a moderator . (This is not a wind-up ) :). You appear to have a bit of savvy as regards forums and their problems (tu)

Well I was very much anti-facebook (or fakebook!!) for many years until a friend twisted my arm recently and now im on it more than I ever thought I would be!!
I think its a gd idea, as the spam thing is off-putting and seems to have spiralled out of control.
What baffled me though, is that I have never put spam on here, yet some of my posts have been deleted, all because I decided to CONTRIBUTE and PARTICIPATE in reggae related discussions, and made it clear to RA and its users that I have a very pro-rasta stance..

If the mod can waste time discarding my posts, (written honestly and from the heart with no intention of disrespecting or offending anyone), then surely he should be able to look about eliminating the spam that destroying this forum and driving RA users away, something I would never intend to do...

So yeah facebook is a step in the right direction anyway, but we should still strive to keep this original RA forum alive and kicking

ONE LOVE!!!! (please don't delete this post as well!)

I know PHP language and i think i can help against spams.
I contacted Ron a few months ago about it and he answered me that he's only a moderator and had nothing to do with building or maintaining this site.
I don't Know who is the owner of this website but since 2008 ,there's someone who paid for the hosting every year.
So this website can be save and give more album informations after 2008.
I don't use FB and i don't want to use FB.

Although I understand your frustration, Facebook is not really an appropriate place to start a forum. It's simply not made for it: especially not through a page.

Seb should appoint someone who could take over the website. In this way, we could start adding albums to the database again, send corrections etc. It's a shame a site like this should come to stand still, as it is now for almost five years.

Ok guys, I see your point. I have texted Seb again to see what the options are, see if he is willing.
I will have to wait for his answer and go from there.
Maybe with the help of Patrick this site can be saved.

I will keep you posted.
