Well you gotta at least like Dubstep a little or you'll be disappointed by this release. I personally don't like Dubstep (it's too fast and too techno-like for me) and so this album is not for me. I remember hearing some sound samples from it a while ago.

So any guys here who actually like Dubstep occasionally?

Well , it seems like there's at least some good dubstep with reggae influence out there. But I'm no expert, and I'm sure some of the real experts would disagree with my definition of dubstep anyway.

But I do like some of Radikal Guru
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSu50ZLDdPQ

and Roommate's stuff
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyTKrS15vVY

Those 2 seem to have the strongest connection with roots singers and toasters, and their music swings and grooves rather than just the usual dubstep approach of throwing a load of wobbly bass onto techno beats.

So yes, the majority of dubstep is unlistenable for me with all the thudding techno beats, but the digikal and steppers scenes of the last 10 years have the same problem.

Anyway, to get back on topic, the "Scientist Launches Dubstep" LP veers more towards the techno than roots vibes, so I'd stay away from that one.

Thanx, that's all I need to know I'm not interested. Not my cup of Dub.

What about "At The Controls Of Dub"?
These are mixes from the good old times, but are they unreleased?
And if it contains unreleased material, is it just as good as Scientist used to be in the late 70'ies/early 80'ies?

Yes very nice Scientist album. The cover says the mixes are from 1979 and 1980. Of course we all know that this kind of information often can not be trusted. But it sounds very late 70s/early 80s to me. It's not that special early 80s Roots Radics sound, but it's very nice imho.

Got my "The Dub Album They Didn't Want You To Hear" in the mail yesterday. Just eight days from Brooklyn to germsmany! Big up DKR!

Gave it a first short spin yesterday. Sounded fantastic. Very nice mixes. They seemed very different from each other. Definitly no bogus newschool-mixes in disguise. And yes... vinyl sound is great, but I knew that before.

I will be picking up both dub albums to determine a fave if possible.
