a pity that he passed away.you said reportedly,but you will have to verify it.where exactly in the usa was he living?but he was the early upsetters drummer.i heard tyronie downie in the bob marley 6th annual hosted by roger steffens on kcrw back in may 10th 1987,saying that when he first joined in the wailers to record prior to his official collaboration with bob marley,he found tinlegs with family man,bunny wailer.that was whn augustus pablo went to summon him and to recommend him to family man i think.so the very first sharp snare drum shot you hear on"black board jungle ""this isaugustus pablo"the early upsetters bear the hallmark o that genius who was tinleg adams.i oftentimes wonder whether he i not related to glen adams or aubrey adams.

Yes that's true, TINLEG played with UPSETTERS in these times with BARRETT brothers and played with them in WAILERS session and more exactly with PETER TOSH in 72-73.He was considered like one of the best reggae drummer and played on the majority of AUGUSTUS PABLO - JACOB MILLER sessions in 74-75.
He was with INNER CIRCLE in 74-75 but played before with them in 71 for the JAMAICAN SONG COMPETITION when they backed ERIC DONALDSON,winner this year.
I forgot to ask about him after he left INNER CIRCLE to ROGER & IAN LEWIS from the CIRCLE when i saw them in december but i'll, because i wan't to be sure about the informations i write.
He stayed in USA after 1975 with SAN FRANCISCO 's reggae groups.
INNER CIRCLE biography is very rich and this group was always composed by very good musicians.

waaw;it seems to me that france is stealing the show to almost every traditional reggae country.not only do they do it with music production ,but with literary production to.so you live in france.indeed,he was (i hope contrary to the info that he is dead)a very talented drummer and his unmistakable snare drum break o intro cannot be unnoticed.i have particularly taken my hatt off to him ever since i listened to these sessions and particulalrly when i listened to the"this augustus pablo".that really drove me crazy.but most people have a tendency to mistaking him with carly barrett.but try to have as much reliable info as possible for there are many talenetd jamaican musicians who disappeared out of the spotlight and who are now in business other than music.many of them died poor or without people's knowing.i haven't personnally heard about people relating to tin legs other than in this forum and i have to praise the inceptors of this forum for the discussion,the high -level information that is being conveyed here

That appears to be in the late 60's/early 70's.

Maybe he was just passing through.

In the book "Solid Foundation" Val Douglas says of the Now Generation "A number of musicians drifted in and out, including....drummer Lloyd "Tin Legs" Adams."

And when talking about Junior Byles' "Beat Down Babylon";
"It was the Now Generation who provided the musical backing for the hit, and Val Douglas says the link again was down to Tin Legs." Again from "Solid Foundation.

HI, you can find infos about Tinleg in BLOOD & FIRE forum. You pon tinleg on the search mode and you'll find some topics and discussions i had with people about TINLEG and CALVIN McKENZIE inner circle's drummers.
I have not my archives with me but if i remember well Tinleg had the same drums teacher as SANTA DAVIS & WILLIE ROOTS STEWART, who was the first Inner Circle's drummer (1968-1970, he is replaced by Carl Barovier) and the third Third World drummer (from 1977, he replaced Cornell Marshall).
It's very interesting to see the movements of musiciens between Inner Circle & Third World.

i like that.when people talk about the musicians and artists who contributed in shaping the music of jamaica,and not those who who come to reap the fruits of the trees planted long ago.the vintage musicians are the ones who are worth making researches on.you are really knowledgeable about inner circle and third world;indeed,the dislocation of inner circle gave birth to third world;well iam wrong maybe when i say dislocation.maybe the split of some members i would say.they were all uptown people.
