Johnny Clarke - Fittest of the Fittest

Barry Brown and Johnny Clarke use the same rhythm but
have different lyrics and styles.

The Barry Brown version has an excellent Dub by Soul Syndicate - Fittest Of The Dub Fittest - which can be found on their Dub Classics album. It's often credited to King Tubby and was obviously mixed at Tubby's at one point. There is another Dub on the B side of one of the singles versions which is different and really a groove.

Al Campbell's 'Clean Hand' uses the same rhythm, it's from his 1978 'Loving Moods Of Al Campbell' album

the Barry Brown version is superbad, but the Johnny Clarke version need to be sought out also - features a flute like instrument, very cool.

It's the same rhythm as the bary brown cut, and actually the lyrics are very similiar. Both killer cuts, but the barry brown dub version by king tubby is one of the the best dubs of all time. There is an extended version - 'No Wicked Shall Enter The Kingdom Of Zion' - of the Barry Brown cut on 'Jah Love Rockers'. It uses a slightly different version of the Tubby's Dub. The same track features on the B side of his 'Big Big Polution' 12inch as 'No Wicked Shall Enter'

One of the Barry Brown singles releases is on Fatman Records FM014. This one has the 4min Tubby's Dub as the flip side

The Tubby's Dub is credited to King Jammy ;o) on '30 Years of Dub Music On The Go Volume 1'

I haven't been able to track down the Johnny Clark Dub as yet. Flute played by Brad Osbourne

Rootsman does an updated version which appears to be based on this rhythm on his 2001 'Roots Bloody Rootsman' album, which is neat
