Ton1; yeah, it's a great idea! Especially if the thumbnail also would link to the record-page.

ton1 wrote:I think it would be helpful to be autorised to display a cover (from R-A only, no hotlinking) since posting an url is not really 'user-friendly' (need to open a new tab). Maybe with a quick formatting like [6741.jpg] would display http://www.roots-archives.com/artwork/albums/6741.jpg in 125*125px.

If it's not clear enough, i tried to show how it could look like with a modified snapshot : http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/8942/coverwj8.png
Following the Ton1 (Antonin) request, you can now add covers to your posts

To add covers, use \[cover=XXXX\]

XXXX being the number included in the cover link

for example the first Come Ethiopians Freedom Sounds cover ID is 300 ; the cover link being http://www.roots-archives.com/artwork/a ... bs/300.jpg

\[cover=300\]
[cover=300,343]

The second one is 301 ; the cover link being http://www.roots-archives.com/artwork/a ... bs/301.jpg

\[cover=301\]
[cover=301,343]

of course you can display labels pictures as well

\[cover=4249\]
[cover=4249,343]

you can't post more than 10 pictures per post

if you click on a picture, it will lead you to the album page

this tag should only be used to illustrate a discussion about an album (or a specific release of an album) please don't make any abuse of it

all the best,

Seb

I asked Mat to add some tabs on the room pages so that we can move from one forum to another quick.

I was tired of clicking on "Forum list".

I post this just in case some of you wouldn't have noticed (if so take care of herb abuse ;))

Someone just give me the link to this thread after i made a post asking why we can't post Jpegs etc.

Having the ability to post a jpeg with your post enhances things so much, there would be no probelm with bandwidth as we would not be uploading pictures to your server all pictures would be hosted elsewhere, same goes for avatars and signatures, if theres a problem with bandwidth then u just only allow off site links, to stop people putting up those horrible huge signatures u just limit the size of the picture either by width+length or by file size. You could stop the flashy pictures by not allowing flash etc.

I just think it's a shame not to be able to post up pictures, would be great if we had img codes or HTML allowed like most forums, it can add to the discusion alot and make things alot more interesting, and i'm sure it would be as simple as ticking the (Enable HTML) box in admin.

Thats my view anyway, i seem to remember being able to post pictures here along time ago, maybe i wrong??

Be nice to have a poll.....or do we have polls in here?

Hi Seb !

There's a (very) little defect with the "display cover" function. When you quote it from another post, the quote is empty and you have to rewrite it manually.
