Just got a promo (MP3) of Sound System Scratch - wow. Admittedly, there are a couple of "ouch" moments (terrible sound quality on a few tracks), but overall this is a seriously dubwise collection of mind-bending Black Ark goodness.

Well noticed, slappy 2. Wonder if we can expect a double LP with all the tracks, or just a single LP missing some of the CD content...

My copy arrived yesterday (it's already for sale on the PS site) and I listened to the first ten tracks last night.

Some of it sounds good, some of it sounds like it was taken from 6th generation cassette copies (probably was, actually).

Me too! That "Groove Dubber" track they're playing on the PS website sounds superb.

Got it! i had about half these tracks but they're cleaned up nicely..i heard a couple other of these mixes on "upsetterexchange.net as well...ive noticed that hardcore black ark fans can accept a little noise from the tracks considering they come from the most special recording studio in music history...

Varied sound- and musical quality on this...

About half are absolute killer tracks - my favourites are:
3 different mixes of Dreadlocks In Moonlight/Big Neck Police
Jucky Skank - super version of Bucky Skank
From Dub Four - weiird version mix of Clive Hylton´s From Creation
Roots Train No. 2 (yes...)
Dub History - great version of Carlton Jackson´s classic

Despite being uneven, a must for all Lee Perry Black Ark fans!(tu)

Visitor:

I don´t have Yucky Skank, but according to David Katz (in People Funny Boy) it has audible vocals from Bucky Skank, whereas Jucky Skank is a strictly instrumental dub version.

Of course, there´s also the later dubbed into oblivion-versions on Blackboard Jungle Dub
as Black Panta and Version Panta Rock!:D
